IMB was established early of 2006 to support biotechnology center for the Institute of Oceanography. By 2007, IMB was recognized as main and independent biotechnology institute under UMT. High end equipment includes NMR, LCMS IT TOF, HPLC, GCMS, mercury analyzer, HCS, full range plate reader, inverted microscope, fermenter, protein purification system, bioinformatics system, SPE system and many more. IMB has established 4 research group which includes Immune and Molecular Therapeutic (IMT), Natural and Synthetic Product (NSP), Marine Microbes and Environments (MME) and Bioinformatics.
