It is designed as the nation's Single Point Access Facilities (SPAF), serving as the biggest and most comprehensive reservoir of information for all matters related to Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) and Research, Development & Commercialisation (RD&C).

Phase 2 & 3: The Second Generation (KRSTE.my R2)
Focus: A significant enhancement and expansion of the portal's features and capabilities.
Phase 4 & 5: Content & Capability Enhancement
Focus: This laborious phase was dedicated to enriching the portal's content and enhancing its capabilities to align with national Science, Technology & Innovation (ST&I) and R&D strategies.
The Third Generation: KRSTE.my R3 (Current)
Focus: The main focus is the continued enhancement of services. This current version of the portal was also developed in response to the national need for a dedicated R&D Databank.
